Meet the ownersWe’re Josh + Sofía, the husband-and-wife team behind Alma Films. Together, we lead a small collective of passionate filmmakers and editors who share our belief that wedding films should feel as alive and artful as the day itself.
Instead of simply capturing your wedding day, we’re passionate about capturing your entire story by learning about you: how did you meet, when did you know you’d found the one, what do you love to do together, how do you want your guests to feel on your wedding day?
Since 2013, our team has captured more than 425 celebrations around the world, each one reminding us why we love what we do and the kind of stories worth telling.
We met in college, married in 2016, and now have three little ones who keep life beautifully full. We love to spend time at the lake, drinking good coffee + even better wine, traveling to new places, finding the best ice cream in town, cooking together, and spending time with family and friends.
It’s an honor to preserve moments that matter — the laughter, the vows, the quiet in-betweens — and are thrilled to call this our job. We feel very fortunate to spend our days making meaningful films for our couples.

Our Approach
“Alma” means soul in Spanish — a name rooted in Sofía’s Chilean heritage, and in her family name. It’s also what we’re drawn to in every wedding day — the part you can’t stage, but you feel.
When we film a wedding, our aim isn’t simply to capture an event. It’s to be present within it.
We move with a quiet awareness, documenting meaningful moments as they naturally unfold. Never intrusive, never forced. We don’t interrupt the day with posing or prompts. Instead, we allow things to breathe. Our goal is to work seamlessly alongside your vendor team, family, and friends so everything feels effortless, and you’re free to be fully in it.
We capture the big moments like your walk down the aisle, first dance, and vows — but we’re equally drawn to what happens in between. A grandmother’s embrace. A quiet tear. The way your parents look at you. The laughter you didn’t expect.
Because that’s where the soul lives.
There’s a kind of magic in ordinary moments. The ones that pass quickly, but stay with you. We see it in our own life with three little ones, and we recognize it in the rhythm of a wedding day.
