Hi there!
We’re Josh and Sofía, the husband-and-wife team behind Alma Films. Together, we lead a small collective of passionate filmmakers and editors who share our belief that wedding films should feel as alive and artful as the day itself.
Instead of simply capturing your wedding day, we’re passionate about capturing your entire story by learning about you: how did you meet, when did you know you’d found the one, what do you love to do together, how do you want your guests to feel on your wedding day?
Since 2013, our team has captured more than 400 celebrations around the world, each one reminding us why we love what we do and the kind of stories worth telling. We met in college, married in 2016, and now have three little ones who keep life beautifully full. We love to spend time at the lake, drinking good coffee, traveling to new places, finding the best ice cream in town, cooking together, and spending time with family and friends.
It’s an honor to preserve moments that matter — the laughter, the vows, the quiet in-betweens — and are thrilled to call this our job. We feel very fortunate to spend our days making meaningful films for our couples.
Our Approach
When we are filming a wedding, our aim is not simply to capture an event. Event videography lacks soul. Our approach is to be present and aware as we capture meaningful moments that quickly pass by. Our aim to be everywhere but never be intrusive, allowing things to flow naturally, film special moments, but not interrupt them with posing and prompts. Our goal is to work together seamlessly with the entire team on a wedding day - photographers, wedding planner, etc - to make the day feel like a breeze for our couples. We always capture meaningful details, grand moments, pretty flowers and spaces, first looks, and special dances, but we also capture in-between moments like grandma hugging you, mom wiping a tear as she gazes at her daughter in her wedding dress, the way a mother looks at her son with pride as she walks him down the aisle, the faces of your friends as they celebrate with you. We like to capture things as they happen and make art out of them. There’s so much magic in seemingly ordinary moments. We find this in our everyday life with three little ones of our own, and we see it in a wedding day’s moments.
Our approach guides the way we film a wedding day as it unfolds. Each wedding and couple is so special, and we carry that sacred weight with us as we document these moments. We know how fast a wedding goes by, and it’s an honor to capture the glances, the sounds, the hugs, laughs, tears, and the spectacular day that is your wedding day.
